Description: 1894. No Edition Remarks. 301 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth covered boards. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to hinges and gutters with exposed netting. Binding slightly loose. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and heavy crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Some additional marks and staining.

Description: Second edition from 1894, the same year as the first publication. The spine is faded, has a little fraying at the top and bottom, some edge rubbing and a crease down the centre. Rubbing to the corners but the front and rear panels are clean and unmarked. Browning to page edges. Previous owner's name and date to top corner of front free endpaper. The endpapers are a little browned with some spotting and the hinges are slightly exposed at the front and rear. There is also a significant gap showing between pages 128 and 129 - the binding is secure but a little slack. Pages browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket.
