Franco Maria Ricci (19372020)war ein italienischer Verleger und Grafikdesigner, spezialisiert auf Kunst- und Designbücher. Die Einleitung Der geheime Verführer stammt von Klaus Reichert (geb. 1938), Anglist, Lyriker, Essayist und Übersetzer. Der Hauptteil beinhaltet zahlreiche Briefe Carrolls an die besagten jungen Mädchen sowie 41 nachdrucke von Fotografien, die Carroll selbst von seinen Briefpartnerinnen angefertigt hatte, davon auch einer in Spiegelschrift, manche unterzeichnet mit dein dich liebender Onkel C.L.D. oder in Abwandlungen. Im Anhang eine Chronologie, ein Artikel Carroll als Photograf des Fotografen Brassaii, sowie einen Aufsatz Wie die Fotografien gefunden wurden des Sammlers Helmut Gernsheim, in dessen Besitz sich der Großteil der Fotografien befindet. Außerdem eine Übersicht über Carrolls kleine Freundinnen mit Zuordnung über die persönliche Beziehung zum Autor. Lewis Carroll ist vor allem als Autor von Alice im Wunderland bekannt, wirkte aber auch generell als phantastischer Autor sowie als Fotograf und wissenschaftler. Seine freundschaftlichen Beziehungen zu jungen Mädchen waren notorisch, eine explizit pädophile Neigung ist allerdings bis heute nicht nachgewiesen. The box is a strongly bound clam shell construction, covered in a discretely decorated pattern and with the seal of Franco Maria Ricci on the front. It has forty one tipped in plates from Lewis Carroll's glass negatives. These are exquisite. The text is in French.
