Speical advance copy for Mark Twain's cousin, Mildred Leo Clemens who has made numerous notes/annotations throughout. Sampling: "San Francisco June 2nd, 1937 'Seventy Years After' Sammy Clemens Book", a handwritten excerpt from "Paine's Mark Twain Biography" and the annotations often parallel her career with his (she was a photographer and a UC Berkely graduate who lectured at various Chautauquas across the country, one of her topics was her cousin Mark Twain. Also a handwritten letter of authenticity from Mildred on Canadian Pacific Railway letterhead to "S. Books" Berkley, Cal. June fourth 191_. "As a member Clemens' Family, and a relation of M.T. it is my pleasure- to autograph this book. Mildred Leo Clemens". SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY THE PUBLISHER ED GRABHORN "FOR MILDRED LEO CLEMENS FROM ED GRABHORN". ALSO SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR DOROTHY GROVER.
