Description: Five volume set of 16mo hardcovers with dark navy blue boards and red blocking on the spine, with gold gilt titling. Volume 5, at the back of the book, has the signature of the illustrator and states that this set is number 259 out of 1500. It includes a monthly letter from the club. Each of the spines has a small image of a character (Fantine, Cosette, Marius, Saint Denis, and Valjean). The top edges of each volume are painted red, and the lithograph images inside are done in red, blue, and rust ink depending on the volume. The condition of each of these books is Very Good (overall t the binding is tight, light dust soiling at the top edge from exposure out of the slipcase, general edge wear to volumes 1 & 5). The volumes are set in a navy blue slipcase, with red blocking on it's spine. The condition of the case is Good (some tearing at the seams on the top edge, general wear to the sides, and some water staining to the text on the spine).
