Description: Quarto, original Irish binding of red morocco gilt, all edges gilt, by George Mullen of Dublin, newly and expertly rebacked by master binder Philip Dusel, and preserving original spine, bookplates of the Archbishop of Cashel and of John Sparrow, neat inscription on fly-leaf, very fine and complete with the half title and the three full-page Flaxman engravings. This exceptionally large copy has some uncut edges and probably is the finest copy available.Edited by William Hayley, this translation was William Cowper's final great work.
