Initially published in an edition of 1,000 copies by the Orioli Press in Florence (1928) and immediately pirated by various publishers. Lawrence issued this cheap edition in response with the assistance of Edward Titus. The new introduction addressed the pirated printings and is entitled My Skirmish with Jolly Roger. Light shelf/edge wear, front hinge starting (and with early tape repair), remains of b/w photographs that had been tipped in at the endpages and later removed, unusual markings at p185/185 [?manufacuturing flaw?], even toning to text block, else tight and unmarred. Halfbound, blue cloth spine and tips, marbled paper boards. 8vo. 365pp.

Including My Skirmish With Jolly Roger - written especially and exclusively as an introduction to this popular edition. Bound by Poynder & Son, Reading, UK. No jacket. Beige boards with gold lettering on red background label to spine are very good with pushing/bumping to corners, patchy browning (including to spine), the odd small mark, odd minor bump/rub to edges and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Top of pages dyed red have the odd small mark/minor scratch. Rough cut page edges and bottoms. Inside boards/end-papers tanned with the odd small mark/minor foxing. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Pages bit tanned. Very occasional small mark/scattered foxing to pages. No other faults. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.
