Entire publication consists of pictorial images by Keith Haring, in the form of a comic book (with multiple drawings by Keith Haring on each page, and each drawing is framed by a single-line rule), with no printed captions or printed text; published in 1981, the year in which Keith Haring had his first solo exhibition in New York City. This title features lithographic images of the artist's felt-tip drawings on paper, evidently expanded from a series of nine works Haring had made in March of the same year for the Public Illumination Magazine's "Civilization Issue" under the pseudonym "Kip Herring". Octavo, 16pp. Original wire-stitched white wrappers, illustrations on front in black. With illustrations throughout. Wrappers a little toned, a sharp, fresh, near-fine copy.

Description: First edition, first printing; 8vo; single quire, wire-stitched in white card, Haring designed wrappers printed in black. Unpaginated series of illustrations by Haring. Very light tide mark at the spine fold, but a particularly crisp copy of a book much given to discolouration. The first printing (with the 1981 date) of Haring's rare first book which introduced all his best known icons including the crawling baby and the barking dog. A fabulous debut by that most quintessential 1980s figure.
