Description: Published by George Routledge in 1941. A First Edition. Size: 32 x 25 cms. Page number: 48. Hardcover. Oatmeal buckram cover with brown lettering. The preface describes obstacles faced by the artist in finding subjects for his studies in Paris during wartime; apparently models were scarce at that time since the theatres were closed. The black and white images within are very glamorous and certainly give no sense of the traumatic events that were taking place in the world. Printed on semi-glossy stock the photographs are on one side of the page only. Condition: Very Good. The cover is grubby and worn and the buckram has lifted in places from the card upon which it is affixed. The front hinge has been neatly repaired making the binding secure. The first endpaper is creased. The pages within are, but for occasional marks clean. The first plate (shown 1st image) is marked by a black dot and a small piece of loss.
