Bookplate of Anthony Quinton (Baron Quinton) (1925-2010) on the front endpaper - a British political and moral philosopher, metaphysician, and writer on materialist philosophy of mind. A little mottling on the front board with some fading at spine and top edges and a tiny hole affecting the lettering at head of spine, slight lean, otherwise sound, slightly used, very good minus with clean text.

Description: The First UK printing published by The Hogarth Press, London in 1938. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread. A hint of pushing at the spine tips with only very light toning and dustiness to the text-block. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just very slight toning to the spine and light age related markings. The Vanessa Bell wrapper artwork looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Only 1200 copies printed (Woolmer 439).
