Letters housed in box decorated with birds. Untrimmed. Famed naturalist and artist, Audubon (1785-1851) wrote the Journals as he traveled the Mississippi River to New Orleans. He wrote the Letters while traveling America and obtaininmg subscriptions for his Birds of America. From the library of the late Stanley DeForest Scott, sold to benefit the Library of the Grolier Club.
