Description: Die Künstler-Edition Derrière le miroir (DLM) erschien zwischen 1946 und 1982 mit dem erklärten Ziel, originalgrafische Arbeiten bekannter Künstler dem breiten Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Das Herausgeber-Ehepaar Marguerite und Aimé Maeght ließ namhafte Künstler wie Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso u.v.a. eigens für die jeweilige Ausgabe Originalgrafiken anfertigen. Literarisch ausgestattet wurden die einzelnen Hefte mit bis dato unveröffentlichten Texten berühmter Schriftsteller wie Samuel Beckett, Paul Éluard, Jean-Paul Sartre etc. Den überwiegenden Teil der etwa 250 Ausgaben fertigte die Druckerei Mourlot Frères in Paris an, die für ihre hochwertig produzierten Lithographien bekannt ist.- Die Grafiken für diese Ausgabe No. 197 schuf Jean René Bazaine (1904-2001), den Text ergänzte Marcel Jouhandeau. Just the merest hint of toning commensurate with ageing but otherwise Fine - no nicks/tears and entirely free from spotting/foxing, fingermarking etc. Hard-to-find in such nice condition.

Original cream cloth, lettering to spines in black. With illustrated dust jackets. 43 original lithographs including the dust jackets and 882 reproductions in full colour. Description: Loose sheets in cover and cloth covered box. The complete set of 3 etchings with aquatint in color and 2 carborandom etchings on one folded sheet: one printed in black and the opposite sheet printed in white. One color etching has a 11 cm. closed tear which has been professionally repaired but is still visible (see or ask for images). Poem in French by Andre Frenaud printed on Bristol paper. Text pages are preceded by printed color metallic paper representing mirrors. Original cover with four folded flaps and a collage from colored-paper cut-outs. Grey, cloth-covered, box with white and silver lettering on spine. Published as a tribute to Jeroen Bosch. SIGNED by both Miro and Frenaud on the colophon page. From a limited edition of 225 copies this is number 7. The cloth of the portfolio box has wear to corners. 46,5 x 32,5 cm.
