Kingsley Amis's third novel. Very minor bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and light shelfwear to the lower book edges. Heavy browning and foxing to the paper edges. Light browning to the endpapers and previous owner's name to the top edge of the free front endpaper. A few marks to the endpapers. Internally the pages have become quite age toned. Rubbing and chipping, with loss, to the dust wrapper corners. On either side of the top spine, edges there are 0.75 " tears, and there has also been a horizontal tear across the spine width, causing an almost complete severing of that part of the spine. Spine piece still in situ. Chips to either side of the lower spine edge. The dust wrapper panels have become quite dull and a little sun affected and light foxing is also noted. The spine region of the dust wrapper is quite heavily sun affected. Clipping of the dust wrapper , front fold over, lower right-hand corner. This is the first UK edition.
