I Wouldn't Be in Your Shoes is a 1943 collection of five novellas by American crime writer Cornell Woolrich under the pseudonym "William Irish". It includes one of Woolrich's most noted works, Nightmare. 320 pages.

Description: 'First Printing' stated on copyright page. In original, clipped, jacket with old tape repairs on verso including some reinforcement and a colored repair to a chip at the top of the spine; general rubbing, and some creasing - the illustration remains bright and clear with no toning to the spine. Bound in blue cloth over boards with green lettering and a green label with the blue cloth showing for lettering on the spine. 'A Story Press Book' in green on the front. Some fading at the edges, gently pushes to head and tail of spine, a crease along the spine; presents and sits square, but a little loose [minor]. Ink inscription on ffep, page 320, and a short one on the rear free end paper; otherwise the interior is bright and clear. Contains five short novels: 'I Wouldn't Be in Your Shoes,' 'Last Night,' 'Three O'Clock,' 'Nightmare,' 'Papa Benjamin.' A rare book in any condition. Pages:320 Dimensions:7½ x 5¼ x 1¼ .

Unmarked, tight and square. Five novelettes. Price intact jacket has fairly shallow chipping along top edge and another chip at base of spine extending slightly into front panel but only affects a few letters of author's name and still presents nicely considering how hard it is to find. His first collection of short stories. Scarce on the market and has been for years. Basis for a film directed by William Nigh. In mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
