This binding is unique to the American edition; a London edition appeared in 1865. Binding scuffed at corners and edges of spine, mountings of photographs generally foxed. A pioneer work of landscape photography. Photographs taken outdoors with one exception, the tomb of Maximilian in Innsbruck.
