An excellent volume on Safari hunting in East Africa, two years before Teddy Roosevelt's Safari, beautifully written, an all time hunting classic, inscribed & signed by the author on fep thus: "Mr. Henry W. with the Compliments of Percy C. Madeira, Dec.09/ Phila". This book was formerly owned by Edwin R. Leach of california Academy of Science ( small stamp), appears to be unread. First British edition in its original hunter green cloth with title in gold and a head of a cape buffalo in black on the front, top edge gilt, 304 pp + 129 photo plates and index. A well kept heavy volume. A nice tight copy.
