(POUND, EZRA). `E.P.'. Hugh Selwyn Mauberley. Ovid Press, [London], 1920.

Price: US$3185.11 + shipping

Description: One of 200 copies, this one un-numbered and with the scarcer green cloth spine, apparently used for the out-of-series copies for the author and publisher (Gallup A19; Cloud A9b). The text is in the assumed second state, with the Table of Contents page corrected and with an upside-down `p' for the `d' in "age-old" in line 16 of p.12. Slight darkening to spine, minimal wear to boards - a nice copy of an important (and now scarce) book.

[POUND, Ezra].. Hugh Selwyn Mauberley by E.P.. London The Ovid Press, 1920.

Price: US$4840.00 + shipping

Description: First edition, first impression, number 178 of 200 copies, this being one of the 165 unsigned examples; 4to; woodcut initials by Edward Wadsworth, the usual, albeit very mild, toning to the title from the adjacent paste down; publisher's tan linen backed brown boards, white paper title label to upper board; a stunning copy, probably one of the three uncirculated copies that turned up the 1980s each vastly superior to any other example we have seen. This fabulous and resonant book - produced by John Rodker at his recently formed Ovid Press - contains some of Pound's greatest writing. Gallup A19; Connolly Modern Movement, 35.
