Description: London: for B. Motte, 1726. xiv+15-142[2],127-244,269-424+[22]p. With 17 engraved plates by William Hogarth, 5 folding, including a frontispiece portrait of the author. Pages are toned throughout, especially up to p.20 and from p.389 to p.424. Stains to top outer edges of prelims, and to rear endpapers. Small tears at foot of title-page and at foot of plate opposite p.364. Old ink one-line inscription at head of front free endpaper. Bound in old full calf boards, worn at all extremities, with blind-stamped geometric design on each. Neatly rebacked, with new gilt lettering to spine. Overall in good condition for its age.
