The text of the letter printed on next page; hand-numbered colophon page, three blank leaves. Black, textured cloth spine with mounted, red paper label with gilt titling (the gilt is faded in this copy); decorated, rose & gray paper-covered boards with mounted red & gold title label on the front cover. Very light rubbing to spine ends, edges of spine, tiny bump to upper right front cover corner, very light rubbing to cover corners. Dust jacket not present. An exceptionally tight, clean copy in the original fragile plain green jacket (now protected in mylar), with expected toning to jacket, two closed tears and one open tear to rear jacket panel. I believe I purchased this copy for a customer of mine from the famous Bradford Morrow John Steinbeck collection offered for sale in 1980.
