Sr and one of his sons with address "Elmwood", Kohler Wis. Verso of the front free end page has photograph (newsprint ) of Monsignor Ramon Mestres, the priest who married the Hoovers, glued. Initials of WJK dated 5-29-33 in ink on recto of limitation page. These initials are those of Governor Walter J. Kohler, Sr., 26th governor of Wisconsin. Small rub to spine of book, xii,[1],[ ],144 pages.

Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "The Kind Regards of Herbert Hoover." This work was also issued in a limited edition binding by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1933. The limited edition run was individually numbered, with a total of 620 in circulation. They were not signed by President Hoover. After his presidency, Herbert Hoover continued to be a prolific author. Description: First edition, first printing, presentation copy, inscribed by the 31st President on the front free endpaper "To my good friend Timothy Hopkins from Herbert Hoover". The recipient, the businessman Timothy Hopkins (1859-1936), was a member of the board of trustees at Hoover's alma mater Stanford University, and close friends with the president. Hoover was one of the pall bearers at his funeral. Stephen Koschal, in his guide to collecting presidential signatures, cites this book as "very difficult to find signed" (Koschal, p. 42).
