Projected jacket has pieces missing at the top and bottom of the spine as well as in the lower left corner in front, as well as other edge wear, price of $3.50 intact. A previous owner's name, date, and address appear on the flyleaf in very light red ink. Seven pages of Lionell Trilling's Introduction are marked in pencil as are nine page scattered in the text, the vast majority of whose pages are clean and unmarked.
