Frontis-portrait (tissue-guard intact), foreword, preface, index, illustrated with tables and many b&w plates from vintage photos. Top edge gilt; a once-handsome production now in a state of disrepair: very heavy shelfwear to boards, the frayed losses at top and tail give casing a lopsided look, ownership name to pastedown (undated, old, Wyoming). As is, a reading copy with original pix in very good shape.

Privately printed in a small edition, and quite scarce today. Natrona County is located in Central Wyoming with Casper has its major city. This is the history of the county from 1888 through 1922. There is much on the early history as a territory and a state, early settlers, outlaws and lawmen, cowboys, ranches, and cattlemen, fortunes and misfortunes, tragedies and comedies, struggles and triumphs of the pioneers, etc. Herd 1509 says "Scarce." "Privately printed in a small edition and very scarce, this book has some excellent material on this county and its livestock interests." SIX Guns 1524 says "Rare." ". this book has some excellent material on train robberies, the Johnson County War, outlaws, and the hanging of Cattle Kate and Jim Averill." Cloth lightly rubbed at spine ends and corners, else a very good, tight copy of a scarce title.

Description: Signed and inscribed by author (also dated 1926 and in Casper) on front endpaper. First edition. Hard cover published by R. R. Donnelley and Sons, Lakeside Press, in 1923. No dust jacket. Brown covers with gilt lettering on spine. Spine has darkened and has some wear at the ends. Spine is loose from binding. Corners of covers are bumped and have some rubbing. Inside front cover has a bookplate from the owner to whom Mokler inscribed the book. Hinge is split before half title page. Back hinge is still intact. Two pages are tanned from where a newspaper article from 1929 (about the Wyoming Governor dying) was left. Tissue guard by frontispiece is still in good condition. Some pages have slight tanning.
