Description: 399pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Original brown cloth binding with embossed designs on the covers, and a gilt stamped title and vignette on the spine. Frontispiece illustration with tissue guard. Good. There is a 3" split in the front board along the joint. There is a loss from the cloth at the head of the backstrip (measuring 1 wide by 1/2" deep), and there is a smaller loss from the cloth at the foot of the backstrip. The spine and the edges of the front board are a bit sunned. There is a contemporary owner's notation on the front free endpaper, a bookseller's small label on the rear pastedown, and a brief pencil notation on the title page. The pages are clean and quite bright, and the binding is strong. Flake: 5183. Subjects include Expulsion of the Mormons from Nauvoo, Interview with the Indians, Mormon Prosperity, Mormon Materialism and more.
