Description: This book has a gentle vertical crack and creasing to the front cover approx halfway into the cover running the full length, shelfwear to the edges and corners of the covers that has resulted in loss of the cover paper, wear and color loss to the paper title tag on the spine as well as general sunfading, a shifted spine, loose hinges, a tear approx 2 1/2 inches long at the top of the interior of the front hinge, toning and faint foxing to the endpages, bumped and scuffed corners, smudging to both covers, and an overall gentle aging to the pages, otherwise this book is in fair, readable condition with unmarked pages and a tight binding.

Description: First edition, limited to 500 numbered copies (this copy un-numbered and marked 'Not for Sale'). A presentation copy, inscribed by the author to fellow writer Frederic Prokosch, under which Coppard has inked the final two lines of Masefield's poem 'Flesh, I Have Knocked at Many a Dusty Door'. With Prokosch's bookplate to the front pastedown. Slim 8vo. 44pp. Buckram-backed paper-covered boards with a paper spine label. Boards a little rubbed and dust soiled, and with just a little toning and spotting to the endpapers and to two or three preliminary leaves. A nice bright copy of the author's first collection of verse, and the seventh Golden Cockerel Press publication. No dust wrapper.
