Condition: Good

Description: Duodecimo; ix, 373 pages, maroon cloth, hinges cracked, stain spot on fore-edge The HEARTS OF THREE represents a significant departure for Jack London. This work is in response to the growth of the movie industry and the demands for Content. In a new fashion, the novelist was co-authoring this work with a distant partner who was simultaneously creating the screenplay. "It has been an interesting experience, this novelization by me of Mr. [Charles] Goddard's scenario; and it has been instructive . I have come, by this adventure in writing, to understand the mass mind of the people more thoroughly than I thoug I had understood it before, and to realize more fully than ever, the graphic entertainment delivered by the demagogue who win the vote of the mass out of his mastery of its mind." - Foreword. [BAL 11982]. Apparently it was not, in fact, filmed until 1992 when it was done as a TV mini-series for Russian and Ukraine !
