Dust wrapper is lightly soiled, chipped on some edges, and worn on the spine portion, wrappers of book are chipped on corners. Internally, a tight bright copy. Description: 4to. Unpaginated. Twelve stunning black & white woodcut illustrations. Staple bound stiff wrappers in original green illustrated dust jacket. A fine copy. Born in Australia, Patterson studied at the Melborne & National Gallery Art Schools prior to continuing his studies in Paris. Around 1910, he moved to Hawaii where he produced his highly prized block prints depicting Island life as is seen in this particular book.
