Der Umschlag leicht angestaubt und mit geringen Fehlstellen sowie am Rücken gerissen; dieser Einriß wurde mit transparentem Japanpapier hinterlegt. Insgesamt handelt es sich um ein ordentliches, noch gut erhaltenes Exemplar der ersten öffentlichen und zugleich ersten englischen Ausgabe (nachdem im Jahr zuvor in Paris ein numerierter Druck erschienen war).
