WOOLF, Virginia. A HAUNTED HOUSE AND OTHER SHORT STORIES. The Hogarth Press, London, 1943.

Price: US$64.00 + shipping

Description: Red cloth, stamped in black. Foreword by Leonard Woolf. Vanessa Bell designed dust jacket. A good or better copy of the first printing of this work, now uniformly toned as both book and dust jacket were printed on highly acidic wartime paper stock. Bell jacket largely complete but fragile and split along spine's front panel fold with losses at crown, toe and, most recently, a portion of the spine itself after being carelessly handled. Lowered price reflects the losses. First edition of this volume of short stories which includes six of the eight stories in MONDAY OR TUESDAY, six stories which appeared in magazines between 1922 and 1941, and six which had not previously appeared in print. KIRKPATRICK A28. WOOLMER 507.
