Condition: Very Good

Description: Hardcover edition, published by Doubleday, 1992. Classic of early 20th Century fiction. Good natured Julia has too many suitors, what is she to do? The true first hardcover was published by Doubleday, and has no silhouette design on the front cover board. So this copy, with the silhouette design, is an early reprint. No dust jacket. 375 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-1/2". Wonderful Art Nouveau style illustration of the title character by C. Allan Gilbert at the frontispiece. Three additional b&w illustrations by Worth Brehm through the text. Olive green cloth covered boards. Very minor dots of edge wear at the corners. Spots of edge wear and fraying to the head and heel of the spine panel. A few hairline scratch marks on the cover boards, front and back. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. There are two faint spots of stains on the fore edge - one at the top about 1" across, second is toward the bottom about 1/4" across. Binding is tight and square. Back paste-down and fly leaf pages have spots of age tanning - see photos. Not a library discard copy. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
