Description: First UK edition published by Jonathan Cape in 1941. This is a near fine copy. The Tisdall jacket has not been price clipped displaying 9s. 0d. net on the inside flap. There are no tears, chips or loss. There is only light wear to the upper spine end and upper edge. The blue cloth boards are in great shape with straight corners and edges. There are a couple of browning patches to the end papers otherwise the pages are clean and without marks. There are no previous owner's inscriptions. Overall it is a highly collectible copy.  Hemingway's Spanish civil war novel, and highly acclaimed. It was listed in the BBC's 100 most inspiring novels and La Mondes 100 books of the twentieth century recently.
