Blyton, Enid. Five Get into Trouble. Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1949.

Price: US$1635.41 + shipping

Description: (London: Hodder & Stoughton 1949). First UK Edition. SIGNED BY ENID BLYTON. Publisher's red boards with black lettering to the front board and spine. Pictorial end-papers. Illustrated by Eileen Soper. Boards exceptionally bright and clean. The merest hint of foxing to the page block edges (hardly worth mentioning). Overall a near fine copy. Signed in black fountain pen ink by Enid Blyton to the half-title: "Cherry,/ love from/ Enid Blyton". The VG dustwrapper is priced 6/- net to the inside flap (as called for) and is a lovely, bright example with a slash of tape residue at the top right-hand corner of the back panel. A former owner has neatly ticked the previous titles to the back flap and - for a reason that I cannot fathom - stitched around the edge of the rear flap. The dustwrapper sounds a lot worse than it looks. Photographs/scans available upon request.
