Description: One of 200 copies, quarto size, 36 pp. This volume is the keepsake catalogue issued to accompany an exhibition of twentieth century fine press printing and binding from the San Francisco Bay Area, for the members of the Grolier Club on their visit to San Francisco in April of 1961. Many of the best-known printers and binders are included in this catalogue, such as The Allen Press, Mallette Dean, The Peregrine Press, The Grabhorn Press, The Colt Press & Jumbo Press, Lawton Kennedy, The Quercus Press, John Henry Nash, and many others. For each press a small biographical sketch and a selection of its works is presented. ___DESCRIPTION: Quarter beige cloth with blue and green patterned paper boards, white paper spine label with red lettering, fore- and bottom edges uncut, title page in red and black, each entry with the device of the press (if known) in red; handset Goudy type, English handmade paper, quarto size (12" by 8.5"), pagination: [1-4], 5-35 [36]. In a plain cream paper dust wrapper. ___CONDITION: A fine copy; the covers clean, the corners straight and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and free of prior owner markings; some slight age-toning to the endpapers, and very minor foxing to some of the interior pages, else fine.
