Staining to the edges of the illustrations from the adhesive used, images not effected. Toning and some light chipping to the edges of the spine. Previous owner's bookplate on front fixed endpaper.

Octavo. 262 pp. Six woodcuts by Ward, including frontis with tissue guard, complete. Patterned boards with blue cloth spine lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt; patterned endpapers. Housed in publisher's slipcase with same pattern design as boards. Boards show light edgewear with some general mild rubbing, and spine lightly sunned and rippled. Binding is sound. Bookseller ticket to front pastedown, ownership stamp to half title, slight discoloration to corners of illustrations, as appears common with this title. Slipcase shows light wear and rubbing along edges, else sturdy and sound.

A very good copy , top edge gilt, previous owner;s name on front fly leaf , small personal library sticker partially removed on inside front panel. Light discoloration at the spine head, , sine sunned. Light horizontal mark on each board caused by slipcase which is rubbed. Nicer than it sounds.
