Quarta edizione delle favole del Gay, la prima edizione apparve nel 1727, e venne ristampata varie volte. E' illustrata da 52 incisioni in rame nel testo su mezza pagina, di vari artisti (molte firmate Kent inv.- Fourdrinier sculp.), di attraenti soggetti con personaggi ed animali. Sul titolo incisione con volto allegorico di dama, nel testo numerosi finalini ornati in silografia. Bell'esemplare di rara edizione dedicata a "William Duke of Cumberland". John Gay (1688-1732) fu illustre poeta e drammaturgo, autore della notissima "The Beggar's Opera". Cohen-Ricci, 1810.
