Description: This SCARCE, small 240 pp. book contains Fables written by the author, specifically for the amusement of His Highness William Duke of Cumberland. Many illustrations interspersed throughout. Some foxing throughout, but very normal for a 242 year old book. A prior owner has made a spectacular flourish out of her name that fills the entire 2nd blank flyleaf. The FFE has 3/6 in ink and the rear free enpaper has a name stamp. The spine is missing a 1/4 '' chunk, and the boards show considerable edge and corner wear, but the book is fully intact, and the brown leather is still attractive. Photos upon request.
