All edges gilt. , "Enoch Arden" is a narrative poem published in 1864 by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, during his tenure as England's Poet Laureate. The story on which it was based was provided to Tennyson by Thomas Woolner. Signature of previous owner, Emily June Thomas 1866, in period ink on flyleaf. Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson, (1809 ? 1892) was Poet Laureate of Great Britain and Ireland during much of Queen Victoria's reign and remains one of the most popular British poets., Size : 8vo (220x165mm). , Complete with frontispiece portrait of the author and 26 wood engravings by Arthur Hughes. Some chipping of upper and lower spine, some pages loose, otherwise in good condition.
