Bound in publisher's half morocco over green cloth, rubbed at edges, five raised bands to spines. Top edges gilt, gilt lettering to spines. Vol. II has slight loss at head of spine. A very good set, protected by non-adhesive film. A heavy set which may incur extra postage.

The first two volumes have timelines outlining 'The Parallel History of Europe in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries, with Population of the Various Countries in the Year 1800' and a 'Parallel History of the Arts and Crafts in England 1685-1800'. These works discuss the development in furniture during the eighteenth century as well as a detailed look at the furniture making process and designs. Illustrated throughout using drawings by both the author and photographs of real furniture. Complete in three volumes. Examples of furniture discussed include chairs, cabinets and clocks. Written by Herbert Cescinsky, an authority on both English and American furniture. Cescinsky wrote several other titles including English Domestic Clocks, English and American Furniture and English Furniture from Gothic to Sheraton. In a half morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the head and tail of spines. Spines have faded slightly. Front hinge to volume III is slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot throughout. A few spots to the foredge of all volumes Very Good Indeed
