Description: British second edition, first printing, 1922. No jacket. Retold by Flora Annie Steel. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. All sixteen full page colour plates (including tissue guarded frontispiece) are present and in very good condition. Numerous black and white illustrations in the text. Red boards with gold lettering to spine and gold design to front are very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, patchy fading, little browning to spine, rubbing to edges, the odd small mark and a little wear (pushing/rubbing/little fraying to the cloth) to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight (slightly pulled towards middle). Top of pages gilt (little dulled/scratched). End-papers/first and last couple of pages are tanned with the odd small mark/spot of foxing. Previous owner's name and date in pen inside front board. Mark to lower corner of pages. Pages little tanned. Odd small mark/spot of foxing to page edges and bottoms. Occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately. Paypal accepted.

Would make a great gift.
