Description: Rebound in plain green boards with silver gilt titling to spine. Some rubbing at bottom edges and thge foot of the spine is chipped and worn away. A few small blemishes to endpapers. Tissue-protected frontis. Light blotching to half-title and to catalogue pages at the rear. Binding tight. 455pp. illus. There is a small pice torn away at the top outer corner of pp. 3/4 well away from the text. The leaf bearing pp. 293/4 has a 15 sq. cm. chunk torn away at the outer margin. This impinges upon the illus. and caption on p. 293 and on a bit of the text on p. 294. The coloured butterfly plate is present but NOT the pocket and map called for at the rear. No prev ownership markings or o/w. Some stains to pp. 322 (text) and 323 (an illus.). The textblock has a sl. abrasion at the extreme bottom outer corner affecting the last several leaves. Heavy volume.

Description: Red cloth hardback with black lettering to front and gilt lettering to spine. Corners bumped so that boards beneath are showing. Dent in edge of front board, board beneath cloth showing. Spine is faded. Bumping at top and bottom. Water damage to covers. Zebra print end pages. Front inner hinge cracking at the bottom and back inner hinge completely cracked. Some mild foxing to early pages. Title page has previous owner's name. Tissue guard to frontispiece has been ripped out. Plate at page 66 is detached from text block.
