It includes chapters on woodworking tools and methods, timber houses and roofs, staircases and panelling, bedsteads, chests and cupboards, oak chairs and tables, walnut chairs, marquetry and lacquer work and domestic clocks. Herbert Cescinsky, who was born in 1875, was an acknowledged expert who wrote numerous books on clocks and furniture and other still highly regarded works of art reference.
