Leather spine and corners with marbled paper-covered boards, printed endpapers, fore and bottom edges untrimmed, in original slipcase. Near fine condition with moderate fading and small ding to tail of spine, slipcase toned. -- Poetry by Ralph Pulitzer, son of Joseph Pulitzer, decorated by his friend Rockwell Kent. Despite the small print run, there are differences in the contents of some printings; this copy includes the poems "Strange Lady," "I Know Not" and "African Adieu.

Description: Limited Edition of 200 copies, this being no. 147. Signed by the illustrator Rockwell Kent on the limitations page. Signed a second time by Kent at the front of the book where he has inscribed it to William B. Thorsen, who edited "The American Book Collector" magazine, and later started and published "The Amateur Book Collector" magazine. Near Fine. Leather spine and corners over decorated boards. Touch of wear to corner tips. Very slight sunning to spine. The plain tan colored slipcase (also numbered "147" at tail of spine) is very Good with some light soil.

Without the publisher's slipcase. This copy with the bookplate of Nelson Doubleday, and with an inscription on the flyleaf: "To Patty Doubleday with affectionate regards from Ralph Pulitzer, August 2, 1927." The first 100 copies of the edition contained three more poems and 3 more illustrations than the second 100.
