Description: Nice book but does have some flaws. Top and bottom of spine are raveled, two faint stains about the size of my thumb and smaller on the front cover. Color and gilt on illustrated cover is still bright as is the gilt title on the spine. Front hinge is starting to go, but is attached. Rear spine is fine. Former owner put a bookplate on inside cover. There is an inscription presenting the book to Junior from Papa, for Christmas in 1902. Black and White drawings by Parrish. deckled edges.

Description: Hardcover, no dust jacket. Embossed and handsomely decorated cloth over boards with black and red lettering to front cover. Gold lettering to spine. Dated 1902 on copyright page, no date on title page. 227 pages, followed by one left unpaginated. Good condition. Binding is strong and tight. Corners and spine have some rubbing to the cloth, but still are strongly in place. The front cover is gorgeously illustrated with a green and gold scene of a castle overlooking a river. There is some light scuffing to the front cover, but the illustration is still mostly bright. Pages evenly toned throughout. Head of pages gilt with gold. A few light spots of foxing here and there. A previous owner has written their name to the head of the front free endpaper. Pages otherwise free of marks or writing. Overall good condition. Please email with questions or to see any photos.

Binding and hinges are in good condition, rubbing wear and minor soiling to front cover (not offensive), Lower right corner shows what appears to be moisture staining to some pages however it could simply be discoloring to paper aging? Does not affect any text. A nice copy of this wonderful book by Kenneth Grahame.

Mild rubbing to edges and corners, front cover is scuffed but still very bright. Binding is firm and square. Top page edges gilt, other edges untrimmed. Internally very good, with no signatures or inscriptions, no creases except on two illustration cover tissues. Decorative knight & castle endpapers with small splits at hinge but still fully attached. First signature set of pages is loosening on the lower end but still well attached. Light foxing opposite tissued illustrations and on a few other pages; heavy foxing pgs. 128-129.
