A wonderful activity book for grown-ups who love all things Edward Gorey (1925-2000) and the Gothic novel Dracula written by Bram [Abraham] Stoker (1847-1912). The stage play was written by Hamilton Dean in 1924 and toured England. It was revised by John Balderston, and first performed on Broadway in 1927 with Bella Lugosi as the lead character of Dracula. In 1977 it returned to Broadway at the Fulton Theatre with sets designed by Edward Gorey. The book includes instructions for the assembly of the toy theatre, a synopsis of the plot of the play with a list of the cast of characters and scenes. Eighteen pages to cut out and fold together to form the stage and players.

Illustrated covers, very good with small stain or toned sticker ghost at front panel, near the fore-edge; light general edgewear; tiny chip from front corner of spine head. Spiralbound, binding sound. In black paper dust wrapper, scuffed, edgeworn, with a small closed tear from bottom edge of rear panel and another from top edge of the front, and numerous horizontal small tears across the spine, a likely consequence of the spiral binding, as even where whole there are faint horizontal impressions/indentations marching up the DJ spine. Interior clean, text and illustrations free of markings. Stored and sold in protective sleeve.
