Description: Edition ltd. to 1475 copies printed by University Press, Cambridge on handmade paper, 2 volumes, 8vo, pp. ix, [1], 502; vi, 549; frontispieces and illustrations in color produced by the Curwen Press; spines slightly darkened, a few natural spots on the covers, else a very good set in the original full natural niger, maroon morocco labels on spines, wanting the publisher's slipcase. This is the last Nonesuch book to be stenciled at the Curwen Press. "The paper is perhaps the most attractive ever used by the press [and] the frontispiece to the first volume I esteem to be the finest of any modern book that I know" (Francis Meynell in The Nonesuch Century).
