Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pencil markings to front free endpaper. Textblock edges dyed yellow. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. Heavy splits to spine ends and corners. Visible wear marks to boards.

Description: Two works from Anthony Trollope's 'Chronicles of Barsetshire', published in the Tauchnitz 'Collection of British Authors' series: 'Doctor Thorne' and 'The Small House at Allington'. Anthony Trollope was a renowned Victorian novelist, best known for his novels on political, social, and gender issues, and other topical matters. 'The Chronicles of Barsetshire' is a series of the following six novels by Trollope, set in the fictitious English county of Barsetshire: The Warden Barchester Towers Doctor Thorne Framley Parsonage The Small House at Allington The Last Chronicle of Barset The works are largely concerned with the political, amorous, and social manœuvrings of the clergy and the gentry. Together, the series is regarded by many as Trollope's finest work. 'Doctor Thorne' is complete in two volumes, all bound in one. 'The Small House at Allington' is complete in three volumes, all bound in one. In a signed W. H. Smith binding, with a book binders label tipped to the rear pastedown of each volume. In a uniform full cloth binding, with gilt title to spines. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear to extremities, and slight cockling to cloth to spines. Slight cocking to 'Doctor Thorne'. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout. Small closed tear to fore edge of rear endpaper, 'Small House'. Tape repair to fore edge of page 103 and 105, not affecting text. Very Good
