The Paris cab horse Goliath describes the hard life that he and his comrades live, in a series of short poignant vignettes. Reminiscent of Animal Farm (the horses form a Union) and Black Beauty (the fates of the horses). Not happy reading. Goll was a well-known French poet who moved in avant-garde artistic and literary circles. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate. First trade edition (1st pub. 1946 in a limited edition).
