Description: First edition, first US printing of this Hercule Poirot mystery. No jacket. Grey cloth over boards with orange lettering and design on front and spine. Covers in fair+ condition with some rubbing, discoloration, and fraying - all holding firmly and tight. Long edge deckled, top edge colored orange, top and lower edge have a very faded stamp that is hard to read. Original "Red Badge Detective" end papers. Previous owner address sticker and embossed stamp on ffep. The interior is lightly toned and clean. Overall a Good copy of this rare Agatha Christie classic.

Top edge still retains original orange/red stain! Overall a VERY GOOD tight straight copy. Hard to find in any early edition ! Now protected in a new facsimile dust jacket!
