Description: 8vo. cloth, paper wrapper, folded broadside. one folio folded map, pamphlet is 51 pages. Designed and hand-colored by Mary Hensman. "Printed by the Guild of Handicraft Essex House 401 Mile End Road London from the Drawings of John Williams and Published by David Nutt 270 Strand London 1892." Single sheet that has been folded both vertically and horizontally. The map is in near fine condition with an occasional small hole near a corner of a fold. The booklet that was to accompany the map is present and glued onto the front pastedown of the later cloth binding, held closed with a silk tie. The booklet contains a short preface and descriptions of the locations that were marked on the larger map. A valuable resource for studying Dante Alighieri.
