Front hinge likely re-glued and evidence of torn paper on rear verso therefore this may have been a library book, but no other indications. Worn along edges and with a stain to the top stain. Cut signature of Bradbury affixed to the dedication page. The jacket with a price of $3.95 on the flap has a tear to the front and is worn at the spine ends, Overall a decent copy and with a nice cut signature attached. Rather uncommon in the first edition.

A beautiful copy of this early Bradbury novel, greatly enhanced by the unique signing/drawing; rare to find the book in this condition, particularly with the personal attention Bradbury took to the signing. This book is in near fine condition with a square tight binding, multi-colored lettering over bright yellow boards, and clean white pages throughout; the book does show a few small tape stains to the signed page. Housed in a very clean and bright near fine dust jacket that has benefitted from some invisible expert restoration and shows only a light soiling to the back panel, else fine. Overall, an excellent copy of a book difficult to find in near fine or better condition, especially with Bradbury's signature. Not remaindered, not ex-library; in a protective Mylar sleeve and will ship well packaged in a sturdy box.

The novel is more autobiographical than fantasy (unlike its companion, Something Wicked This Way Comes), with the majority of events being daily moments of life in the Midwest in the late 1920s.
