Description: Complete set of Kensiington edition dated 1903 - 1904. Books are tight, square, clean, and unmarked in dark green cloth with gilt border and gilt titles on spine. Gilt top edge and rough cut papers to fore and bottom edge. About half the books are sunned on the spine, thus some spines are lighter than others. Kensington edtions have original title pages and tissued frontispieces. Illustrations, most by the author, are present in all but 2 volumes. Vol 11 has front hinge just starting and vol 23 less so. Vol. 16 has three pages iwth outer edge tears where pages have been carelessly cut. All 32 volumes have bright unmarked pages, including the many (hundreds?) illustrations.

Description: 1903-1904, 32 volumes complete, very good green cloth hardcovers with gilt to covers and spines and top page edges show light exposure toning to spines, light soil to spines and various areas of covers, bit of bumping at some corners, the occasional light internal split and a corner stain at top of frontispiece illustration of volume XV. Still an attractive set of the Kensington edition of Thackeray's works with his illustrations ".reproduced from the first impressions, both for clearness and to avoid the tampering of engravers with later plates, evident in many of the earlier sets."

Description: The Kensington edition, limited to 250 copies printed on Enfield paper. Bound in contemporary three-quarter dark green morocco over green and brown marbled boards, spines in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments, ruled in gilt, t.e.g., other edges deckle. Illustrated with frontispieces, plates, and in-text drawings all reproduced from the author's drawings in the first editions of each work. The spines are uniformly faded to brown, in eight of the volumes the boards have become detached, but are all present; the remaining volumes are all in near fine condition. The text blocks are all tight, clean, and square. All of the volumes are unmarked. GOOD. 8vo 8" - 9" tall
