In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines, and lighter bumping to the extremities. Bumping had resulted in a small closed tear to the head of the spine of Volume X.Only a few minor marks to the boards and spines. Marks are a little heavier to the boards of Volumes IV and X. Vertical crease to the rear board and rear paste down of Volume V, and to the front board of Volume VII. Small repair to the tail of the front joint of Volume XI. Front hinge of Volumes I, VI, VIII, IX, and X is starting but firm. Front hinge of Volume IV and Volume VII is a little strained but remains firm. Hinges of Volume II are starting but firm. Rear hinge of Volume X is starting but firm. A little loss of paper to the front paste down of Volume II. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper of Volume II, 'Oscar F. McKenney, 1894'. Bookplate to the front paste down of Volume IV, 'Wilbur R. Harman'. Bookplate to the front paste down of Volumes V, VI, VII, and VIII, 'Philip Dana Mason', and a pencil inscription to the recto of the front free endpapers. Ink inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper of Volume IX. Pencil inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper of Volume XI. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and clean. Small tide mark to the head of the first few pages of Volume XI, and a blind stamp to the title page. Double-paged map in Volume VI is torn. Very Good
